Workshop A: Creating a Vision: Getting Leaders Excited about Digital Transformation with Office 365 - led by C5 INSIGHT
Digital workplace projects promise to transform companies from tired legacy thinking into teams of engaged employees that disrupt their competitors.

But, let's be honest, these projects have a way of getting off track. In fact, 60-80% of digital workplace projects fail. Two of the most frequently sited reasons: not understanding the unique planning process, and no plan for change management.

This session will dive into what should be included in your O365 roadmap, what applications to use and what to consider leaving out. You'll go beyond technology and into changing how your business thinks about people.

Participate in group exercises that you can bring back to your team including a deeper knowledge of how to:

  • Build a business case and ROI
  • Understand why different O365 applications work better for different companies and decide which one(s) work best for your role and company
  • Discover why people and process are more important than the technology
  • Engage a leadership team - and keep them engaged
  • Understand the role of change management, journey mapping and governance in transforming your business
  • Get a digital workplace roadmap workbook for free

Workshop B: Humanizing the Digital Workplace with O365: Reinforcing Culture, Tapping into the Power of Employees, & Encouraging Continuous Improvement - led by ROGUE SERVICES & SOLUTIONS
Globalization and the free market have created opportunities for corporations to expand their footprints. Multiple locations, a more dispersed workforce, and time-zone conflicts are symptoms of growth with consequences such as disconnectedness and siloed teams. It is time to leverage your intranet as a strategic communications tool—not just for “push” messaging,” but for humanizing the increasingly digital workplace.

This workshop will include both individual and group break-out exercises as you learn how to use your intranet and the Office 365 toolset to reinforce corporate culture and values from a team member’s first day on through their tenure, including how to:

  • Create an onboarding process that can be digitized in a meaningful way
  • Harness the power of vlogs for sharing, training, and encouraging continuous improvement
  • Tap into the power of employee engagement and peer leadership through virtual committees

A more personal virtual office experience results in a deeper commitment to an organization and its mission, which shows in tighter teamwork, reduced turnover, and retained institutional knowledge. Join your peers as you explore opportunities for inspiration, information, and engagement with a more human intranet experience.

Workshop C: How to Build a Modern Intranet on O365 - led by MICROSOFT
If revenue is the engine that runs your business, then culture is the oil that makes everything flow without friction. The experience that you create for your employees is what drives a positive culture and that’s why employee experience is the next competitive differentiator for businesses. Companies that invest in their employee experience are more likely to be on “best places to work” lists, have a greater profit and revenues, and have greater productivity.

Organizations struggle with barriers such as: workload, cost overhead, leadership buy-in, analytics/ ROI, technology, and the list goes on. There are many elements that comprise an employee experience, but central to all of that, is a great employee experience team.

Companies need to know how to find the right people, personalities, and skills to drive, measure and create an improved company culture. This is no easy task because each company has unique differences, the concept around employee experience is new, and the ever-growing set of solutions to choose from is daunting.

In this highly interactive and participatory workshop, you’ll walk through a simple framework where you’ll work together and discuss how to build a successful employee experience team specific to your company. You’ll come out with great insights including:

  • Understanding the why and what of employee experience
  • Getting a pulse of your organization's current state
  • Choosing which areas to focus on
  • Assembling your leader and team

Forming Communities to Increase Collaboration and Get Leadership Buy-In - ATRIUM HEALTH
Collaboration is everyone’s responsibility and the intranet is the front door to everyone at your company. Collaboration among teams and leadership communication are key drivers of success and the intranet is the likely place this is all housed for consumption.  Taking advantage of all aspects of Office 365 and SharePoint forms communities that bring employees together to increase collaboration which increases productivity resulting in leadership buy in.  Building groups that collaborate on content creation and adoption of suggested best practices will  increase traffic to the intranet while breaking down department silos.

Hear how Atrium Health used a hybrid of O365 teams & SharePoint to drive collaboration and communications, including:

Customer Adoption Program: Driving Organizational Change, Saving Money and Making People Smile - U.S. ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY
Does your organization have trouble getting employees to use new technology? You’ve rolled it out, fixed the problems, everything works smoothly and… no one uses it? We faced similar challenges at the US Environmental Protection Agency after transitioning to Office 365. We wanted employees to embrace new ways of doing business and position EPA to discontinue support for legacy and redundant technology. To accomplish our goals, we started the Customer Adoption Program, which uses change management techniques to engage employees and inspire them to voluntarily change their behavior. Our communication strategy focuses on five guidelines for creating content: highlighting benefits, focusing on people, using conversational language, making the important interesting, and including powerful visuals. This program has achieved significant early success and continues to expand.

Following this session, you'll have a better understanding of:

  • Guidelines for developing effective communications that people will read and act on.
  • Examples of how to create big change with few resources.
  • Positive outcomes that surprised us!

Recap from Day 1 & Chairperson's Address: Employee Experience Trends in the Office 365 Digital Ecosystem - HABANERO CONSULTING
With the pace of change and breadth of tools in Office 365, it's hard to know where employees focus their attention. Add that to all the enterprise tools and the proliferation of content, and it’s no wonder executives and communicators struggle to reach employees with the right message. How can you craft an employee experience that gives employees the tools they need to their job and keeps them connected to each other and the purpose, vision and values of the organization?

This presentation will cover emerging employee experience trends to build a connected, collaborative and productive digital workplace. Tackling questions like:

  • What are organizations doing to build thriving employee-driven social networks while also maintaining a strong corporate communication channel?
  • What are the trending digital employee experiences that help integrate Office 365 sites and intranets to other digital workplace platforms such as ServiceNow, Workplace, Workday and Success factors?
  • How do Office 365 tools such as Microsoft Teams serve as both a threat and opportunity to the communicator?
  • What does the future of knowledge management hold in store for the digital employee experience?

Building a Modern Intranet for A 100-Year-Old Company Built with SharePoint Online - HELMERICH & PAYNE, INC.
Historically, there was a consistent lack of communication at Helmerich & Payne, but reaching field employees was particularly difficult and unreliable. To solve this issue, a project was established to deliver a fully modern, mobile-friendly, single-sign on, secured company intranet for all employees no matter the location or job function in six months using existing resource. Building a modern intranet using SharePoint Online was meant to create a better way for all employees – regardless of location – to get the information they needed.

Following this session, you will learn how:

  • The project was cross-functional and was designed to strengthen company communications, create clarity and engage employees with a new, modern company intranet.
  • Using a O365 SharePoint Online Communication site, the team was able to launch a new, centralized resource for employees to easily access personal information as well as important company updates in six months.
  • O365 and SharePoint Online allowed for easy site updates and expansion without massive coding delays.
  • The team used a SharePoint communication site because of the responsive design for mobile with no need for custom mobile development.
